About Me

Hi, my name is Randy Hill and I am just one of thousands of people around the world, tired and frustrated with the lack of consideration that is displayed by a growing "demographic" that I call, "the great unwashed and ill-mannered." People who can't seem to get outside their little world long enough to see the stress that they create on the rest of the population.

I've created this blog and online store as an outlet for this pent-up frustration...and also to have a little devious fun while I'm at it!

Have fun and keep it down while you're in here. Thanks.

[When Randy isn't whining about noisy and rude people, he dreams up designs in his studio at Hill Design Studios. A native Texan, Randy resides in the wilds of the Pacific Northwest with his wife Dawn and four cats]

Steve Dublanica has written a new book titled,Waiter Rant: Thanks for the Tip — Confessions of a Cynical Waiter (Ecco, $24.95) Here’s a choice little excerpt: Q. In the decade you’ve waited tables, have customers become ruder? A. People’s social graces are diminishing […]

Roar of the crowd

Monday, June 30th, 2008

My wife and I went out to dinner at a small Thai restaurant the other night. There was a group of about 10 people sitting near our table. You would expect some conversational noise in this kind of situation, but this was ridiculous. There were at least five simultaneous conversations going on at one time. […]

The Top 5 Next Door Neighbor Sins

Monday, May 19th, 2008

I grew up on a farm back in the day. One of the advantages, among many, to living out in the country, is that you could pretty much be as loud as you wanted to be without disturbing the neighbors. In fact, one of my first garage-rock bands used to rehearse in our house on […]

Getting to know you, Getting to know all about you. Getting to like you, Getting to hope you like me. These lines from the song “Getting To Know You” from The King and I, could be easily applied to today’s online social networks. But how much is too much information to give out, especially in […]

Portable Phone Booth

Monday, May 12th, 2008

My good friend Von Glitschka sent me a link to the picture below. Pretty funny! I really do miss the old telephone booths, including the ones they used to have in restaurants. Remember them? It enabled you to have a private conversation and at the same time spare others from having to sit and listen […]

Europe Allows Cell Phone Use On Airlines

Monday, April 21st, 2008

In what has got to be the stupidest decision of the new millennium, The European Commission have issued new rules that pave the way for mobile phone calls on air flights. Air France seems to be the only one to offer this service thus far. British Airlines and Lufthansa are taking a “wait and see” […]

“This kind of self-absorbed, rude behavior really burns my arse. “

Friday, April 11th, 2008

Many thanks to our guest poster Kimburg for the following: So, I’m at Peet’s this morning (as every morning) and it’s uber-crowded. There are two women ahead of me in line who are having a hardcore chatfest. Whatever. A delivery guy with a handtruck was trying to maneuver his way through and everyone in line […]

John Clifford, most famous for his crusade against rude behavior on the Long Island Railroad was in court yesterday facing charges for slapping a woman who tried to stop him from berating another passenger for talking too loud on his cell phone. It’s not the first time that he’s lost his temper. Once, he poured […]

ROD MICKLEBURGH March 20, 2008 VANCOUVER — In a far-off Shangri-La pocket of British Columbia, a group of determined villagers is engaged in a titanic struggle to roll back the tide of communications progress that has swept over the planet in recent years. Not all progress, mind you. New Denver, population 556, does have […]
