About Me

Hi, my name is Randy Hill and I am just one of thousands of people around the world, tired and frustrated with the lack of consideration that is displayed by a growing "demographic" that I call, "the great unwashed and ill-mannered." People who can't seem to get outside their little world long enough to see the stress that they create on the rest of the population.

I've created this blog and online store as an outlet for this pent-up frustration...and also to have a little devious fun while I'm at it!

Have fun and keep it down while you're in here. Thanks.

[When Randy isn't whining about noisy and rude people, he dreams up designs in his studio at Hill Design Studios. A native Texan, Randy resides in the wilds of the Pacific Northwest with his wife Dawn and four cats]

“Loud People in Quiet Places…”

Monday, April 30th, 2007

The following is from a blog called, “Tuesdays With Morris.” Enjoy! To me, coffeehouses are meant to be sacred places. A place of semi-quiet solitude. A place where friends can gather to discuss world affairs, philosophy, theology, politics. A place where you can simply put on your headphones and get lost in a book while […]

Darth has the right idea.

Our good friend and illustrative designer Von Glitschka found this great YouTube video and passed it along. Grab some popcorn and enjoy.

Go ahead and stare.

Wednesday, April 25th, 2007

I hate it when people stare at other people for no apparent reason. I am usually pretty oblivious to it, but my wife will always pick up on the fact that someone is staring at us. We’re just regular people – not freakish. Quit staring, people! It’s rude and it gives me the heebie jeebies […]

Rudeness reaches new depths

Monday, April 23rd, 2007

Where do we go from here? I found the following story quoted in an April 5th, San Francisco Chronicle article by C.W. Nevius to be both funny and frightening at the same time. The article refers to an actual encounter that Danville business travelor Jerry Lasky had with a rude cell phone user: “I was […]

Babble-on

Saturday, April 21st, 2007

I’m not quite sure about this device I found on Gizmodo.com’s site. It’s called “Babble” and according to the press release, Babble masks your telephone voice so that a listener in the next cube will hear a, “low volume group conversation” while the person on the other end of the phone hears the “normal” you. […]

What’s that you say?

Wednesday, April 18th, 2007

O.K….this is cool. I imagine it could be made to fit a cell phone somehow, don’t you think? I think by the end of your conversation, especially if it’s a long one, that you would end up with sweaty lips from all the hot air. I’m also having a hard time believing that there is […]

It was the carrot thing that did it.

Tuesday, April 17th, 2007

I found this on a blog called travelingtreefrog. Pretty odd, but funny. The combination of the gambling, drinking and wicked carrots made me laugh. Overheard yesterday at The Nightingale. “I may have been a bad person. The things I done to my wife. The gambling, the drinking. But I’m not a bad person for wanting […]

Loud talkers of the 19th century…

Monday, April 16th, 2007

I found the following quote at a Rochester, New York history website. The website features in its entirety a book on manners published in 1896 titled, “Youth’s Educator for Home and Society.” I love reading these kinds of books that were published in the 1800’s that really show how much society has changed in […]

We can all hear you now…and it’s annoying!

Friday, April 13th, 2007

An ABC poll conducted last year said that eighty-seven percent of Americans say rude cell phone use bothers them “a lot.” The people polled also said that they found bad language offensive (80%), while 77% found “substitute cursing” like “freaking” or “b.s.” offensive behavior. In a related story, 20/20 put together a “rudeness quiz” with […]

Give Peace a Chance

Thursday, April 12th, 2007

To the family that sat across from me at the Mexican restaurant last night: It sure sounded like your kids were having a great time out with the family! I think they had way too good of a time. All I could hear throughout my miserable meal was the sound of your kids screaming at […]
