About Me

Hi, my name is Randy Hill and I am just one of thousands of people around the world, tired and frustrated with the lack of consideration that is displayed by a growing "demographic" that I call, "the great unwashed and ill-mannered." People who can't seem to get outside their little world long enough to see the stress that they create on the rest of the population.

I've created this blog and online store as an outlet for this pent-up frustration...and also to have a little devious fun while I'm at it!

Have fun and keep it down while you're in here. Thanks.

Down the hall and to the left

By Randy | May 3, 2007

My wife and I recently had a wedding anniversary and to celebrate we went to a favorite restaurant of ours that is now under new management. It has always been a great place to get a good meal. I was a little nervous about the new management since this was a special occasion and I hoped that they hadn’t screwed things up.

We walked into the restaurant, put our names on the waiting list and waited for an available table.

After five or ten minutes, the restaurant hostess walked up to us and asked if we’d be interested in sitting in the new wing of the restaurant that had been converted from a bar. We remarked that we didn’t mind and she proceeded to walk us through the busy restaurant to a steel door. She opened it for us and we stepped into a long, dirty and poorly lit hallway. Now I was getting nervous. It was the kind of hallway you might see in a restaurant that has the restrooms hidden back behind the kitchen. The walls were white and dirty and devoid of any art.

After following the hostess for about 30 feet or so, she turned the corner and opened up another steel door that led to the “new wing.” I could tell it had been a bar almost immediately, from the smell of stale cigarettes and booze. We told her that we’d rather not sit back there and followed her down the hall and back into the main restaurant.

Now why on earth the new management thought it was good idea to take a customer down a ugly hallway like that, I’ll never know. I am just amazed at the lack of forethought. At least remodel the hall with new paint, carpeting, lighting and artwork for the walls. Unbelievable.
