Air-travel etiquette: How to avoid hassles
By Randy | June 21, 2007
This is a great article by Beth Harpaz on boning up on your air travel manners. Here are the basics:
Be discreet – “If there’s ever been a time in your life where you don’t want to attract more attention to yourself, it’s on a plane.”
Respect the crew – In May, a California man was convicted of interfering with flight attendants and crew members in a case that prosecutors said began when he became too affectionate with his girlfriend on a flight to North Carolina.
Prepare the kids – In January, a family was kicked off a plane when their toddler threw a tantrum and couldn’t be strapped in for takeoff.
Don’t share your illness – Remember the guy last month who had TB? Get a clue.
Don’t make jokes about terrorism – You’d think there wouldn’t be a person alive on earth right now in his or her right mind that would joke about something as serious as terrorism – guess what.
Know the security rules – “Be polite, answer any reasonable questions, and just keep thinking about being done with it so you can move on with your life.”
Simples rules to be sure…not everyone is smart enough to follow them.
