About Me

Hi, my name is Randy Hill and I am just one of thousands of people around the world, tired and frustrated with the lack of consideration that is displayed by a growing "demographic" that I call, "the great unwashed and ill-mannered." People who can't seem to get outside their little world long enough to see the stress that they create on the rest of the population.

I've created this blog and online store as an outlet for this pent-up frustration...and also to have a little devious fun while I'm at it!

Have fun and keep it down while you're in here. Thanks.

[When Randy isn't whining about noisy and rude people, he dreams up designs in his studio at Hill Design Studios. A native Texan, Randy resides in the wilds of the Pacific Northwest with his wife Dawn and four cats]

We can all hear you now…and it’s annoying!

By Randy | April 13, 2007

An ABC poll conducted last year said that eighty-seven percent of Americans say rude cell phone use bothers them “a lot.” The people polled also said that they found bad language offensive (80%), while 77% found “substitute cursing” like “freaking” or “b.s.” offensive behavior.

In a related story, 20/20 put together a “rudeness quiz” with the help of author Laurie Puhn. Here’s a selection of questions that were used:

Have you gone through a supermarket 10-item express lane with more than 10 items? Yes? No?

Have you typed e-mails while talking to a friend on the phone, unconcerned that your friend hears the distracting taps of your keyboard? Yes? No?

Have you taken your children to a restaurant and let them get up from the table and wander around? Yes? No?

Have you stared down at a newspaper or magazine while your spouse is talking to you? Yes? No?

While among friends or co-workers, have you yawned without covering your mouth? Yes? No?

I’m afraid I’ve violated the 10 item checkout rule at the grocery store before, and yet, I can still look down on someone with disdain who’s doing the same thing.
