Tis the season to be thankful for the socks.

It’s Christmas and all the presents are sitting under the tree just begging to be opened. How you react to the gift you are given this year is a reflection on your ability to be sensitive to other people’s feelings.
This is most apparent in a group environment, as when a family or group of friends gather in one place to celebrate Christmas with gift giving.
It’s easy to make a sarcastic remark about the ugly tie that aunt Mary sent you in the mail; not so easy when she’s sitting in the same room with you when you open it. That’s when a person who knows how to receive a gift as well as give one really shines.
Always, and I mean always show your appreciation to the person who gives or sends you a gift. If they give it to you in person and it’s not exactly what you’ve dreamed of, at least find it in yourself to appreciate the thought itself (even if the other person’s thought was just a flicker). It’s easy, just smile and say, “thank you very much…I appreciate it.”
If the gift was sent in the mail, be sure and send a thank you card back to the person who sent the gift to you.
None of this takes a huge amount of effort and the effort it does take will be appreciated.
